I have always believed that when it comes to kitchen decor, its color is what truly gives the right look and feel to this super important room. These days there are so many gorgeous, stylish and bold ways to modernize homes’ kitchen; you would be surprised with all of the wonders a well- coordinated color pallet can make for your cooking/ eating room.
Since the right color selection for your kitchen can stunningly update it in major ways, it would be essential for you to make some research, read what interior designers or decorators are choosing to create beautiful and why not bolder kitchen spaces? To make your kitchen feel more like a welcoming room than a simple or typical place where you have to cook every day, here’s an interesting kitchen color selection I have made, in order to share some of my personal ideas that might make your kitchen area a bold as well as refreshing space that will keep you, your family and guests away from a boring area.
Green- inspired kitchen
Due to its calming and energizing effects on people, green color for your kitchen is a great option you can consider. Since picking the best green tone for this area of your home may be tricky, it would be a good idea to focus making every element in your kitchen match with the green tone you want; cabinets, countertops backsplash and appliances are the main elements you should take into consideration, thus before make your final decision be sure you round out your color palette. I have mentioned that green color provides any room with an energizing space, to me it is the best way to bring outdoors vibes in, therefore here are some of my favorites suggestions on such refreshing color: pea green, mint green, glossy green (with stainless steel appliances for great accents!), forest green, just to name a few.
I think pink is such a tricky color! You could think that this color can make your kitchen look like Barbie’s Dream House, however there are incredible ways to add pink color in your kitchen; providing it with a chic and bold look rather than a childlike room. A good idea to include this color in your kitchen can be getting neutral color items like stainless steel, black or white appliances and items; and then choose a bold pink shade like magenta that will give your kitchen a unique look, just to create the right feel in your grown- up space. Or, what if you give pink color in your kitchen a true chance? Because you do not have to stick to just one shade, I encourage you to experiment with a well- coordinated mix of pink color, for instance: pastel pink, fuchsia and dark pink, dare to include your favorite and most functional kitchen items in these shades of pink, and come up with an eye- catching kitchen.
Do you know red is known for being a color that stimulates both appetite and conversation? Well if bold in the adjective that best describe your kitchen’s dreamy look, let me tell you that this classic color is commonly used in dining areas, so it can be a wise choice for a kitchen with a large and communal island. It will all depend on how far you want to go, whether for an all red area or just a little splash of this tempting color in your room. In any case the best piece of advice I can give you is to start from the easiest way to add red to the kitchen, this is through accents; the stove or the rug are great starting points. Not to mention others simple and wise ways to incorporate such strong color choice, for instance: a red door or wallpaper, a modern backsplash with your favorite red shade or elegant cabinets.
True bold blue
Blue has always been a smart choice to use in a cooking space. Many homeowners as well as interior designers are giving bright blues a go; turquoise, aqua and actually darker blue shades such navy are some of the options included in the list, I do believe that any of these alternatives will create a striking and sophisticated look in your kitchen. If you do not want to cover your entire kitchen with blue, you can opt for punch up your cabinetry with stunning clue shades, or create a large space with a soothing blue; neutral color for lower cabinets will be another great trick to achieve an impactful kitchen area. Last but not least, in case you decide on navy blue for any accent of your kitchen, make sure this room gets natural light due to the fact that this shade of blue tend to make kitchen feel dark.
