The Ibicenco style

Rate this post

When we talk about Ibiza everything is thought of inordinate passion of things, party and hormone drift. To the more conservative people Ibiza also moves them but from another place from its style, not only in fashion but also in architecture and decoration.

The nature of the decoration in Ibiza has an old style that at the same time plays with the innovative that combines in a same plane the history, the glamor and the time so that nobody escapes of what you like because conjugates the past with innovation in a same place.

We say history, or the past, because the Ibiza style, although it is stepping again strongly, was not born a week ago but years, perhaps centuries much further back. This style was born in the neolithic where the subjects of cleopatra began to imagine how the present was with glamor and the future sure.

But if there is something to thank the Phoenicians is that it did not stop there but they started to export it, almost unintentionally to different places, including today the crazy island of Ibiza. Naturally the style was not what they wanted to preach in principle but it was the way of life that was impregnated in the branches of one of the Balearic islands.

You do not have to think about it, they have their rules and for anyone who wants to enter a corridor where the body and the environment conceive everything. A walk on the next list would not hurt.

1. Mediterranean Philosophy.

Light, purity, calm, tranquility. All this, evoked through the way of construction and decoration.

2. Outside unnecessary luxuries.

The goal: to achieve simplicity and freedom through austere style.

3. Cozy environments.

For example, you can decorate your Ibiza bedroom with linen canopies or natural fibers in extra long pieces.

4. Peace through color

This style welcomes white as the color of your flag although it is true that you can turn to others who help achieve this summer peace as relaxing as orange, turquoise or brown.

5. Relaxed constructions

The Ibiza style is the one that best achieves the charm of the modern Neolithic house thanks to the functional construction of its structure: using holes and bends in the work itself with which furniture such as seats or shelves, arch structures or Vaulted ceilings soft and rounded.

6. Light houses

An Ibiza house will always let the sun caress all the corners of its interior. This explains the taste for seeing the Ibiza sunsets in the mythical Café del Mar. The large windows and orientation are

key. Candles and lanterns are the best accessories that fit in this style.

7. Noble materials

Ode to natural wood, stone, terrazzo or wicker in straight lines, minimalist and austere.
